Our Church
Get to know us
We want you to visit us at the Muscatine Church of Christ.
But we know an unfamiliar place can be intimidating. So, we’ll let you know what you can expect when you join us.
Setting
Our auditorium has plenty of rows of chairs to sit in. And there are no reserved seats – feel free to sit anywhere!
Music
All of our music is “a cappella” – we sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments.
Prayers
There will be several prayers during the service. And there may be prayers for specific needs and requests.
Preaching
The sermon will likely be from 20 to 30 minutes. We think you will find it refreshingly Bible-centered.
Communion
If you visit on a Sunday morning, the Lord’s Supper will be included in the worship proceedings for baptized believers.
Offering
Containers will be passed to collect the weekly financial offering. You are not expected to make a donation.
People
We’re a diverse group, coming from varied backgrounds, different countries, and different stages of spiritual growth.
You
You may be asked to fill out a Visitor’s Card so the church can write or call to thank you for your visit.

Belief Statements
What We Believe
Therefore, we depend on scripture to guide and lead us in everything that we do.
Our beliefs and our decisions are guided solely upon what God’s Word allows.
About God
God is the Creator and Sovereign ruler of the universe and all that is in it. (Genesis 1:1, 1:26-27)
About Jesus Christ
Jesus is the Son of God who came to earth to save us from our sin. (Matthew 1:21, Luke 19:10, John 3:16)
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. (Acts 2:38,1 Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 1:13-14)
About the Bible
The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and is the total authority in life and doctrine of the church. (Psalm 119:105, 2 Timothy 3:16)
About Man
Men and women are made in the exact likeness of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)
About Eternity
Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. (Matthew 10:28, Philippians 2:10)
About Salvation
Salvation is a free gift of God made possible by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to all who believe in Him and obey his calling. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9. Hebrews 9:26-28)
About the Church
Jesus Christ established His church for the purpose of spreading His message of hope. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, 8-13, 5:17; 1 Peter 5:1-4)
About the Name of the Church
Our name comes directly from the Bible. (Romans 16:16)
About the Leadership of the Church
The Biblical model of leadership places responsibility for the local church under the direction of a plurality of elders/shepherds/overseers. (Acts 20, Ephesians 4:11, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5)
About the Role of the Evangelist (Preacher)
While the job title of the “preacher” bears many names, the Bible only uses the term “evangelist”. Preaching the ‘Good News’ of the gospel is what he is called to do. (Ephesians 4:11)
