What to Expect
Your Own Parking
A special parking place has been reserved just for you, our guest, near the door. Or if you like, drop off your family at the door under the covered drop–off and then park your car.
A Welcoming Church
You will find friendly faces waiting for you at the door and in our fellowship area ready to greet you upon arrival. We are small enough to know you, and large enough to serve you!
What to Wear
We have a diverse group. Some wear slacks, some jeans, some come in shorts. Casual is probably more our style. Definitely not dressed–up. Whatever your clothing style you will be at home.
Worship
The goal of our worship is to praise and glorify God. We keep our worship simple, Biblical and without all the flash and show. God’s people in the Bible simply worshipped God from the heart–and we strive to do the same.
Singing
Singing is music to the soul. It is high praise to God. While we may not be angelic in sound, our church loves to sing. Regardless of your ability, great or not so much, we welcome you to join us in praising God through song!
Communion
The Bible tells us the first-century church observed communion every Sunday to remember Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. We continue this practice and invite all Christians to join us.
Prayer
Prayer changes lives and brings peace. Jesus taught and modeled it, and we encourage a strong prayer life, practicing it together as a church.
Contribution
Our members’ generosity keeps our church running and helps those in need. As our guest, your presence is gift enough, but you’re welcome to give if you wish.
Faith-Filled Experiences for All Ages
Bring the Whole FamilyFrom engaging Bible classes for kids of all ages to activities designed to help teenagers grow in their faith, we strive to provide a nurturing environment for everyone. Our worship services are family-friendly, and we love seeing parents and children worship together. Whether you’re bringing toddlers, teens, or anyone in between, we have something for everyone to help them feel connected and encouraged in their walk with God. Come as you are and experience the joy of being part of God’s family!
FAQs
What is service like?
Our services are simple, uplifting, and centered on God’s Word. You can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere where we come together to worship in spirit and truth. Each service includes a cappella singing, heartfelt prayers, and a Bible-based message designed to encourage and challenge you in your faith. We also partake in the Lord’s Supper each week, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice. Whether you’re new to worship or have been attending for years, our services are a time to connect with God, grow in His Word, and be encouraged by the fellowship of His people. Come as you are – we’d love to worship with you!
What should I wear?
We encourage you to come as you are! You’ll see people wearing everything from jeans and t-shirts to dresses and suits. What matters most is that you’re here to worship God and grow in faith, not what you’re wearing. Whether you’re dressed casually or more formal, you’ll be warmly welcomed and feel right at home. Come as you feel comfortable, and join us for a time of fellowship and worship!
What do you have for kids?
We love having children as part of our church family! We offer engaging Bible classes for kids of all ages that are designed to help them learn about God in a fun and interactive way. During worship services, we encourage families to worship together, and we have resources available to help keep little ones engaged. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving environment where kids can grow in their faith, build friendships, and experience God’s love. We’re excited to help your children discover how much God cares for them!
What is the teaching like?
The teaching at the Muscatine Church of Christ is rooted in the Bible and focused on helping you grow in your understanding of God’s Word. Our messages are clear, practical, and applicable to everyday life, providing encouragement and guidance for your walk with Christ. Whether it’s a Sunday sermon or a Bible class, our goal is to help you deepen your faith and draw closer to God. We strive to teach in a way that is engaging and relatable, while staying true to Scripture. Come ready to be challenged, inspired, and equipped to live out your faith!
What is the music like?
Our music is simple, pure, and focused on glorifying God. We sing a cappella, following the example of the early church, with voices blending in worship without the use of instruments. The congregation sings together, creating an atmosphere of unity and reverence. Our hymns and spiritual songs are chosen to praise God, encourage one another, and reflect Biblical truths. Whether you’re familiar with a cappella singing or experiencing it for the first time, it’s a meaningful way to worship and connect with God and His people.
